This week, the creators of 2018 AshA44 Games, announced a new open-world RPG, Flintlock: The Seat of Dawn. The game also made an appearance today at [email protected], just so we don’t forget. As Ash, Flint is a third-person RPG with brutal combat. The game is all about fighting hordes of the undead, and you’ll do it with a mixture of magic and gunpowder. My favorite type of mix.
Based on the cinematic trailer alone, it’s hard to say just how Flint will follow in Ashthe heels. For the most part, games are as different as day and night. Ash has been a success souls-like, with random items and passive cooperative gameplay. You attacked, dodged and managed your stamina. Oh, and you dodged. Did I mention that? Flintlock: The Seat of Dawn was not narrowed down to one genre when it was announced. But, according to its description and trailer, it’s an action RPG where you can use spells to fight or immobilize enemies before finishing them off with flintlock rifles.
Either way, it looks intriguing. According to the development team, Flint features Nor Vanek, “a member of the coalition army”. She is joined by Enki, a mysterious being with magical abilities. Together they battle undead creatures in a “personal vendetta against the gods”. It sounds hardcore.

contrary to Ash, Flintlock: The Seat of Dawn was announced for Steam, instead of being a temporary Epic Games exclusive. The game will arrive later this year on PC via EGS and Steam. And it’s a day one launch game for Xbox Game Pass. I don’t know yet if that means it will also be on PC Game Pass, but the odds are definitely high.
“With an open world to explore, leave your mark on a vast battlefield as you journey through desert sands, cavernous ruins and towering cities filled with secrets and lead humanity’s final siege against the tide of the dead “, reads the description of the game via press release. “Players must embrace their creativity and master a rewarding combat system blending axe-wielding, gunplay, magic, and more to unleash powerful combos and defeat the mightiest beings in creation. .”
