Carrion

How about a horror game where you is the creature to be feared?

Death by the light of day

Multiplayer and horror haven’t traditionally been genres that go together very well. It was before Death by the light of day hit the stage, however; since then there have been a lot of asymmetrical horror games that have gone pretty well.

Death by the light of day is still the king of all, and it’s available through Xbox Game Pass. In each match, you will control either a relentless killer or one of the four survivors. Of course, the goal of survivors is not to get caught. It’s easier said than done, however, when the environment changes every time you play.

While the survivors play in the third person, giving them more awareness of their surroundings, the killer plays in the first person, bringing them closer to the action. Those who really come into Death by the light of day and you don’t mind spending the money, you will find that there is also a wide range of well known killers available in franchises such as Halloween, Chainsaw Massacre and even Scream. So if you like horror and multiplayer games, chances are you’ll love it. Death by the light of day.

Dead space

If you missed it, a next-gen remake of Dead space was announced recently. However, if you are an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, you can play the original. Dead space right now thanks to EA Play.

Put the players in control of a man called Isaac Clarke, Dead space finds him trapped on a vast spaceship filled with horrific creatures. Worse yet, they cannot be killed by conventional means; in order to stop relentlessly pursuing Isaac, he must dismember them, piece by piece. Fortunately, he is good at improvising weapons.

It might be pretty old now, but get started Dead space today and you will find that he still plays great and looks pretty cool. Well, as beautiful as a spooky horror game about a dilapidated spaceship can look. We have to ask ourselves if a remake is really necessary. Either way, if you’re looking for the best horror games on Xbox Game Pass, this is definitely one of them.

Survive 2

Sequel to one of the most terrifying games ever created, Survive 2 increases production values while transporting players to a spooky new location.

To add to the horror and mystery, it seems Blake has some personal demons to deal with as well. Needless to say that at the end of the test, you will have lost your mind, especially since there is no combat in the game; all you can do is run. It might not be as good as the original game, but Survive 2 is still terrifying. Best of all, it’s available on Xbox Game Pass.

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard

Resident Evil 7

Resident Evil 7 Completely reboots the Resident Evil formula by shifting the action to first person and focusing more on horror. It also borrows ideas from many popular horror movies and games from the past. There is a whiff of evil Dead in there, a taste of Chainsaw Massacre, and an air of Sentenced. Corn Resident Evil 7 is a masterpiece in its own right.

Playing Ethan Winters, a man who finds himself in the Baker family home as he searches for his missing wife three years ago, all is certainly not as it seems. A few minutes after entering the door and finding Mia, he finds himself attacked by her and her “family”. From now on, Resident Evil 7 is pure terror that bites its nails.

Resident Evil 7 is definitely one of the best horror games on Xbox. In fact, it may be one of the best horror games of all time. If you have Xbox Game Pass, be sure to play it.

The man of Medan

The man of Medan

Although quite short, Supermassive Games’ The man of Medan packs in a hell of a lot of horror.

The story follows a group of young adults who hire a boat to dive into an underwater wreck. Things don’t go quite as planned, however, when they are hijacked by pirates and find themselves aboard an abandoned warship.

You can complete The man of Medan in about three hours, but during that time you’ll hear of an extremely haunting story, some hair-raising scares, and more action than you can imagine. The way

Medium 3

Okay so we weren’t too impressed with The way when we reviewed it at launch, but many others loved it. It sounds like a bit of a Marmite game, but the wonder of Xbox Game Pass is that you can download it and try it out for yourself without spending any more money. Then you can make up your own mind.

Put the players in control of a medium called Marianne, The way has a dual world mechanism. This means that sometimes you will be able to switch between the real world and the spirit world; doing allows you to use each other’s unique properties to progress. What’s even more impressive is when both worlds are displayed at the same time, although this presents some gameplay issues.

There is no real fight in The way, although you will come across a horrific creature known as The Maw who will occasionally stalk you. Generally, however, The way just trying to scare you with its gloomy surroundings and dark history. As a truly next-gen game, just know that it’s only playable on Xbox Series X / S.
