Sniper Elite 5 targets Xbox and Game Pass launch in 2022

Rebellion has announced that the Sniper Elite series will return with a new entry next year. Sniper Elite 5 will launch in 2022 for Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One, and will be available from day one with Xbox Game Pass.
Taking on the role of legendary sniper Karl Fairburne, you’ll travel to France in 1944 to destroy Operation Kraken. Working with the French Resistance, Fairburne soon uncovers a secret Nazi project that could end the war before the Allies invade Europe. With maps based on actual locations in France, Fairburne sets out to eliminate top Nazi officials and end Operation Kraken.

Rebellion says the campaign maps “are the largest and most immersive in franchise history” and that a new traversal system will give players “an even greater sandbox of options to eliminate their targets “. Maps were created using photogrammetry to recreate a “living and immersive environment” and include numerous infiltration and extraction points. Of course, the campaign can also be played in co-op with a buddy. There is also a new PvP Invasion game mode where another player can invade your campaign as an Axis sniper or vice versa. However, Rebellion notes that as Karl you can call for help and invite a second sniper to come and help take out the other player. Another feature Rebellion is keen to brag about is the improved kill cam which is apparently “more realistic and ghoulish than ever” – you can see it in action in the trailer above.

A release date has not been given, but Sniper Elite 5 will launch for Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Windows PC, PS4, and PS5 sometime in 2022. It will also be available with Xbox Game Pass and PC Game. Pass the first day.
