Qatar Airways integrates vaccination certificates into its IATA Travel Pass

Qatar Airways becomes the first airline to test the authentication of the COVID-19 vaccine via the IATA Travel Pass “Digital Passport” mobile application.

As more travelers return to the skies, the airline remains committed to reducing paperwork and delivering a more contactless, safer and smoother travel experience for its passengers.

The test will be rolled out in phases from July, initially starting with the return of cabin crew to Doha from Kuwait, London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris and Sydney. Cabin crew will be able to upload their Qatar-issued COVID-19 vaccination credentials as well as their COVID-19 test results to the IATA Travel Pass mobile app and verify that they are eligible to travel. Upon arrival in Doha, the crew can then safely share their vaccination certificate and proceed with immigration at the airport.
