Having an entire solar system to explore sounds like a wonderful opening premise for a game, so it’s perhaps no wonder that Outer Wilds has become such a successful indie game as it has in recent years. If you haven’t experienced the game for yourself yet, a great opportunity has presented itself, as Outer Wilds is now available on Game Pass for console, PC, and even the Cloud.
Your character explores a solar system that is living out the last 22 minutes of its existence, as the sun is about to go supernova. Luckily for you, you’re caught in a time loop, allowing you to relive those 22 minutes over and over again. With that in mind, and given that knowledge crosses between loops, it’s up to you to learn about the mysteries of the solar system and a long-extinct alien race.
Truth be told, Outer Wilds has appeared on Game Pass in the past, with the game being pulled from the service at the end of June last year. If you missed it the first time around, you can play it now as part of Game Pass, and if you’ve been thinking about picking up the DLC, Echoes of the Eye, there’s no better time than now.
