Gulf Air Extends IATA Travel Pass Trial | THE DAILY TRIBUNE

Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, has extended the IATA Travel Pass trial to include more routes after the initial launch of flights between Bahrain and Athens, London and Singapore.

Starting today, the airline will add flights from Bahrain to Dubai, Frankfurt and Paris to the IATA Travel Pass trial project. Passengers with non-biometric passports on iOS and Android devices will be able to participate in the trial to simplify and manage COVID-19 travel requirements.

Gulf Air passengers will be able to create a “digital passport” allowing them to match their travel routes with the COVID-19 health requirements of their destination country and validate compliance. Bahrain is one of the first governments to participate in a trial of the IATA Travel Pass.

Gulf Air Acting Managing Director Captain Waleed AlAlawi said, “We are on track with our IATA Travel Pass trials and have now added 3 more popular routes to be part of the trial. Our passengers can now participate when they fly to Dubai, Frankfurt or Paris, even using non-biometric passports ”.

Passengers arriving from Bahrain can perform the tests required for their final destination at the following IATA approved laboratories to securely send test results to passengers through the app: American Mission Hospital, Bahrain Specialist Hospital, Royal Bahrain Hospital and Royal Hospital for Women and Children.

Passengers traveling directly from Bahrain to Athens, Dubai, Frankfurt, London, Paris and Singapore will receive instructions on how to register to participate in the trial and instructions on how to contact the laboratories to schedule their tests.

Economy class passengers will have access to the Gulf Air Falcon Gold check-in area and Falcon Gold lounge at Bahrain International Airport, while Falcon Gold cabin passengers will receive free Wi-Fi on board. their flights (if available) as a thank you for their participation.
