Emirates became the first airline to implement the International Air Transport Association’s IATA Travel Pass on six continents and will deploy the solution to more than 120 destinations in October.

To date, the IATA Travel Pass is available to Emirates customers traveling from 50 cities.

After successful testing in April on select routes from its Dubai hub, Emirates gradually extended the IATA Travel Pass pilot project to customers on 12 routes in June.

Today, the airline signed a contract with IATA to implement the solution on its global network.

“Emirates continues to invest in technologies and solutions such as IATA Travel Pass to deliver smooth travel and contactless experiences to customers while enabling our airport teams to manage document checks in accordance with regulatory requirements,” said Adel Al Redha, Emirates COO.

“Emirates’ implementation of the IATA Travel Pass across its global network is a key tool in managing the myriad complex of health credentials required to travel,” noted Nick Careen, senior vice president of the United States. ‘IATA, operations, safety and security.

“By providing passengers with a one-stop-shop to demystify, manage and process these credentials through a secure automated process, they can arrive at the airport ready to fly using automated processes,” he explained. .

The IATA Travel Pass solution enables passengers to find precise information about the trips, tests and vaccines required for their trip.

Using the pass, passengers can also access certified COVID-19 testing centers at their point of departure that meet the requirements of their destination.

The app allows passengers to digitally manage their travel documents, from receiving test results and vaccination certificates directly from laboratories and authorized testing centers, to securely sharing these documents with authorities and airlines for facilitate travel.

Travelers can now access more than 1,500 COVID-19 testing labs through the IATA Travel Pass app, and that number continues to grow.

They can download the app and register by creating their digital identity using their passport.
