Emirates begins IATA Travel Pass trials

Emirates has started testing the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Travel Pass, a mobile application to help passengers easily and safely manage their travel in accordance with all government requirements for Covid-19 testing or vaccine information.

The first passengers traveling from Dubai to Barcelona on the EK 185 tested the ‘digital passport’ to verify and share their Covid-19 test status before traveling with Emirates.

Testing is a step towards making travel more convenient, allowing travelers to manage Covid-19 related documentation digitally, securely and transparently throughout the travel experience. In the future, travelers will also be able to share vaccination certificates with authorities and airlines to facilitate travel.

“The ability to digitally process data relevant to passenger Covif-19 for travel will be the way forward.
