Gameloft has unveiled Disney Dreamlight Valley, an upcoming video game that will be released in 2023 on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X (and S) and competing systems from Sony and Nintendo. Disney Dreamlight Valley is similar to The Sims and Animal Crossing in that it lets players create their own player avatar and complete tasks in a hamlet filled with Disney and Pixar characters.
While Disney’s Dreamlight Valley isn’t expected to release until 2023, subscribers to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service will get free early access to a kind of open beta set to debut this year. Interested players on other platforms will need to purchase a Founders Pack to participate in this first test period. Need more gaming news in your life? Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
A short teaser video has been released which shows off a variety of customization options and activities for players to explore. Rather fun, Disney Dreamlight Valley seems aimed at adult fans of Disney properties rather than younger gamers. As in, it has a powerful free mobile game for soccer moms to play in the mood. It’s not necessarily a strange move, because there are certainly plenty of adult Disney fans out there, including this writer.
