Age of Empries IV is coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC today

Age of Empires IV, the latest installment in the long-running real-time strategy video game franchise, is out on PC today. The game will automatically be part of Xbox Game Pass but only for PC. This means that if you have subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, you can play it completely for free.

The concept of Age of Empires remains the same as usual, explore the world, gather resources, develop your military might and conquer your opponents with full force by destroying their landmarks, maintaining control of specific locations on the map or by building the wonder of your civilization. . If you are new to the game, you can learn the basics through the Mission Zero tutorial and The Art of War challenges.

Once you are familiar with the basics, you can get started with the story-based campaign. There are four major campaigns in Age of Empires IV, each consisting of multiple single-player missions, which immerse you in key moments in the story:

  • The Normandy countryside
  • The hundred years war
  • Mongol Empire
  • The rise of Moscow

If you’re looking for something a little more competitive, you can also jump into multiplayer where you can take on your friends, AI, or other online players in quick skirmish matches with up to seven others. There are eight playable civilizations at launch: the English, Chinese, Mongols, Delhi Sultanate, French, Abbasid Dynasty, Holy Roman Empire, and Rus.

In addition to the Xbox Game Pass, Age of Empires IV is also available on Steam and Windows 10. If you don’t have a high-end gaming PC, Age of Empires IV offers a Min Spec mode, which allows gamers to enjoy gaming on older, less powerful PCs. Find out the minimum, low, recommended and ideal PC specs required for Age of Empires IV.

It’s been a while since I played an Age of Empires game, but thanks to the value of Xbox Game Pass, I will definitely give it a go.
